Trump’s AI Czar David Sacks Says Most People Don’t Want Their Kids Exposed To ‘WokeAI Brainwashing,’ Compares It To CCP-Controlled AI

This article is more than 3 months old.

David Sacks, a key tech advisor to President Donald Trump on artificial intelligence policy, warned that the future of AI is shaping up to be a high-stakes battle between two dominant forces: American and Chinese AI.

He made these remarks while sharing a video on X that featured a conversation with venture capitalist Marc Andreessen.

Sacks raised the issue that both “WokeAI” and AI built in China could end up pushing strong political ideas, each influencing how people think, learn, and interact with key parts of society, like schools and government.

As AI becomes a bigger part of daily life, in schools, hospitals, and the government, more people are asking who is building it and who controls it.

A Binary Future: Chinese or American AI

In the video Sacks shared, Andreessen gives a clear and direct prediction: “20 years from now, the world is going to be running on Chinese AI or American AI. Like, those are your choices.”

He emphasizes that AI will become the “control layer for everything,” meaning it will be the main way people interact with core institutions like the education system, health care system, job market, and legal framework.

“Do you want your kids to be taught by Chinese AI? Really?” Andreessen asks.

“They’re really good at teaching you Marxism and Xi Jinping thought.”

Andreessen warns that the values embedded in these systems matter deeply.

He suggests that countries around the world are already grappling with tough decisions, some don’t want to adopt AI systems trained under Chinese Communist Party ideology, but they also hesitate to embrace what he calls “super woke Northern California AI.”

He frames it as a cultural and political dilemma, not just a technological one.

“How these things are trained and who they’re trained by really, really deeply matters,” he says.

Sacks: WokeAI and CCP AI Are Two Sides of the Same Coin

Sacks shared similar concerns in his own post, writing: “As Marc notes, most people wouldn’t want WokeAI brainwashing their kids either. It’s important that AI be truthful and politically unbiased. WokeAI and CCP AI are flip sides of a similar Orwellian future.”

By comparing liberal AI models to ones made under strict government control, Sacks says we need to find balance in how AI is built.

For him, the goal should be politically neutral and transparent AI systems that respect personal freedoms instead of reinforcing ideological agendas, whether from Beijing or Silicon Valley.

His remarks come as part of a growing national conversation about the ethical development and deployment of AI.

As more companies, schools, and parts of the government start using AI, more people are arguing over what values these systems should follow.

People who agree with Sacks say the U.S. should lead in creating global rules for AI that focus on honesty, fairness, and free thinking.

Others wonder if staying neutral is even possible, or if that idea hides a different kind of political goal.

Since Sacks is now helping shape AI policy under Trump, his views are drawing attention in a wider cultural debate. This could affect how kids, schools, and governments deal with AI for years.
